Content |
The Programme consists of three major elements:
|
Module (A) Leadership, Discipline and Team Building Training
- Duration: 80 hours
- Confidence training, physical training, leadership training, team building and organisation skills
|
Module (B) Job Search and Interpersonal Skills Training
[Compulsory]
- Duration: 48 hours (Another 38 hours for career counselling and support services)
- Communication skills, interviewing techniques
- Provision of career counseling and support services by case managers to help trainees draw up their career plan
|
Module (C) Computer Application Training
- Duration: 48-80 hours
- Basic and intermediate training on computer application
- Commonly used software in office setting and professional software applications

Module (D) Job-specific Skills Training
- Duration: Varies with courses
- A wide variety of job-specific skills training courses tailor-made for young school leavers
- Trainees may undergo workplace attachment training upon completion of modular training

- Workplace Attachment Training (Duration: 1 month)
- Acquisition of work experience and development of potential

- Career Counselling and Support Services
- Case managers will provide career counseling and support services flexibly throughout the programme as well as after job placement

Transport Allowance |
For the Programme Year 2008/09, trainees with 80% attendance or above of a modular or tailor-made training course of YPTP or the induction course of YWETS are entitled to a transport allowance at a rate of $30 per valid training day. Eligible trainees should approach their Module B training body/case management training body within one month upon completion of modular training courses for applying for such allowance. |
